Ryu Si-won Tops Japanese Record Chart
Singer/actor Ryu Si-won has topped a Japanese music album chart in the Asian category.
Ryu’s fourth album “With You,” which was released in Japan in May, was found to have topped the music chart according to the largest music record chain HMV’s annual album sales rankings.
The singer’s agency, Rs Company, said the feat attests to Ryu’s success in Japan as a singer.
“With You” topped HMV’s album booking chart when it was just released, and took the second spot on the Oricon daily chart. In June, the singer successfully gave a concert at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan.

Yamada Yu - MYUSIC (Album)
Information: MYUSIC is Yamada Yu’s debut album and was released on May 14th 2008. It includes her 5 singles, REAL YOU, EYES ON ME, Fly So High plus b-side little raindrop (thought for this album, Fly So High was remixed), fiesta!fiesta! and leave all behind. The album also has 4 new tracks, 6 if you count in the intro and outro.
Review: Requested by kana. Back when this album was released, I remember it being on non-stop. It was one of the releases in the entire damn May that surprised, because it’s very good for a debut album. MYUSIC varies a lot and starts out with an urban/R&B section and sometimes switches to an uptempo pop song. The album also is very upbeat and slows down for only one ballad, leave all behind. I however thought the album lacked new songs and the remix for Fly So High doesn’t really count.

Hitomi Shimatani - Flare (Album)
Information: Flare is Hitomi Shimatani’s seventh album, released on July 16th. It includes her 4 previous released singles like Neva Eva, Shinku and Ai no Uta (though rearranged for this album), Nakitai Nara and WAKE YOU UP, Ame no Hi ni wa Ame no Naka wo Kaze no Hi ni wa Kaze no Naka wo and Marvelous. In total there are 6 new songs.
Review: Even though Shimatani’s fashion taste has turned into one of a 60 year grandma, her singles still were pretty good and interesting and good enough to attract some curiosity to this album. I did not have enough time to listen to the entire album, so I directly went to listen to the album tracks and boy, do they suck ass

Satomi Takasugi - Arigatou (Single)
Information: Avex Trax artist Satomi Takasugi is back with her first single after the release of her debut album Garden. It was released on June 25th.
Review: I’m happy she continueing with her music career because I liked most tracks off her Garden album. Arigatou is a sweet popballad that is a contribution to her mother. Her voice is very calm and grateful, which does prove she has a huge amount of control over her voice. I didn’t like this track all too much because it sounded a bit boring IMO, but the melody is heart-warming.

Berryz Koubou - Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance (Single)
Information: Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance is Berryz Koubou’s seventeeth single and hit stores on July 9th. As Berryz Koubou is part of the Hello! Project family, the songs are of course composed by H!P’s mastermind Tsunku.
Review: I always feel too old for any Hello! Project songs, unless they’re just really that good. Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance is a fast-paced fun song, that has a nice dance tune and does have a catchy vibe. The song is a typical Tsunku song and I guess that’s a good thing.

Foxxi misQ Discography
Foxxi misQ is a female trio group that is mostly active in the hip-hop genre. They were formed in 2006 to be the Japanese version of American group Destiny Child and released their first single Tha F.Q’s Style in the same year. They have faired in the charts, but are yet to break through. They have however built a big fanbase outside Japan for their western flavoured music. In my case, I so far really like what they have been releasing. There’s always a track in their singles I like, either the a-side or the b-side, yet I would never consider them similar to Destiny Child, because of too many differences.

Hide

Aira Yuuki - REFLECTION (Album)
Information: REFLECTION is a new album from Aira Yuuki, released on July 2nd. Aira Yuuki has been working her way into the anime world, as many singles off this album were used as a theme song. It’s also remarkable that before the cover of this album, none of her fans knew how she looked as no picture was released.
Review: This artist is rather unknown still and with the small tiny amount of promotion, that’s gonna stay that way. I however did wonder what this album was gonna sound like, because record companies tend to throw themselves on a new artist when they think she or he will really earn them money. Having heard REFLECTION in a rush,
